Dino Mahtani, a journalist and investigator with deep expertise in issues related to conflict in Africa broadly and Congo specifically will be in conversation with Congo Kids Initiative board member Leslie Thomas. Their discussion will provide context for the recent M23 military advance in Eastern Congo as well as background on long-term political instability that has fostered decades of violence and poverty in a country that possibly has more natural resources than any other in the world.
